MIT varsity crew is back on the water and ready to race! And you can help the program prepare for its first competition in two years.

Athletes, coaches, alumni, and MIT parents have been waiting for this moment since fall 2019. MIT Crew is thrilled to be in our amazing new boathouse, back on the water, and ready to race! While we spend the next few weeks remembering the joys of training in eights and fours, we are asking MIT Crew community members, like you, to support the program as it prepares for regatta season.

Each year, MIT Crew relies on gifts to the Friends of MIT Crew and Friends of Women’s Crew programs from alumni, parents, and friends to support a portion of the program’s operating budget. This year, we invite you to direct your support to help raise $10,000 which will help go towards funding the equipment we need for regattas. Equipment costs represent 10 percent of the program’s operating budget, and we can’t race without it! Every gift supports an immediate need such as unisuits, CoxBoxes, oars, and many other items. 

Your gift today will make a difference to every athlete who cannot wait to sit ready for their first regatta since 2019! 

About MIT Crew 

MIT Crew has been waiting two years to return to competition. In its last season of competition, in the fall of 2019, MIT had a stellar showing at the Head Of The Charles Regatta, with the heavyweight men finishing first in the collegiate eight event and the women’s lightweight crew finishing second in the women’s lightweight four. The lightweight men’s four finished 14th in their field. Just one week after competing at the HOCR, the women’s openweight crew traveled to Saratoga Springs, NY, to claim first in the Head of the Fish varsity eight event. MIT looks forward to defending and improving upon these finishes this fall. 

MIT varsity crew is consistently recognized for academic excellence, including rowers on the IRA and CRCA All-Academic Teams and as recipients of the NCAA Public Recognition Award.
