Our Thank You Gifts are ready to ship - but we need your address!

June 06, 2016

Dear MIT KitCube Sponsor:

Please provide your shipping address and t-shirt sizes for your gifts by using this Google form: http://goo.gl/forms/7PlExwHMe1(All information will be kept confidential).

We exceeded our fundraising goal on Thursday, March 17th, and wanted to thank you for your support of the KitCube Team. We cannot express how much we appreciate your help in achieving our pioneering mission of lunar orbit and laser communications with a 6U CubeSat.

MIT KitCube’s goal is send a shoebox-sized satellite to the moon by placing among the top 3 finalists in all four of the tournaments in NASA’s CubeQuest Challenge. This will award us a free launch spot on Exploration Mission 1, the maiden voyage of the Space Launch System which will be the most powerful operational rocket when it launches. We are using cutting edge technology that will help define the future of space commerce and exploration by allowing faster communications and safer propulsion on smaller platforms.

We are also delighted to report that on March 17th, we learned that Team MIT KitCube placed second in Ground Tournament 2. This earned us a prize of an additional thirty thousand dollars to support our spacecraft development, keeping us on the right trajectory to compete in lunar orbit. Even so, there are many more obstacles to overcome that will put our design and construction to the test.

Your generous donation will go a long way in helping us manufacture, design, test, and prepare our nanosatellite; every single dollar will push us one step closer to lunar orbit. Not only that, but you have played an instrumental role in forming the next generation of interstellar thinkers. Our team is made up of MIT undergraduate students and graduate students, along with high school students from La Cañada Flintridge, California. Your support of our unique team builds our scientific and technical legacy for years to come.

To thank our sponsors, we will be sending out gifts as mentioned in our crowdfund page (https://crowdfund.mit.edu/project/1501). The expected delivery schedule for these gifts is as follows:

June – Notes, Stickers, Remove Before Flight Tags,  Mission Patches, and Sponsor T-Shirts

July – 3D Ornaments and ½ Size 3D Models

Please make sure to provide your shipping address and t-shirt sizes by using this google form if you are expecting a gift delivery.

From the bottom of our collective hearts, thank you so much for your support. We look forward to traveling through space with you.

To the Moon!
