The MIT Sport Taekwondo club is a group dedicated to providing a place for taekwondoists of all abilities to train together, while becoming part of an exciting and close-knit community. The club has won multiple ECTC league and national championship titles in past years. Most recently, our team has won 2nd place in the 2016 ECTC tournament season.
Each year the club hosts an annual fundraiser, the Kickathon, to support club members. We ask donors to “sponsor” us to perform kicks and board breaks. On the day of the event, we will do 1000 kicks and various board breaks together, as a club. Sponsors, who can be friends, roommates, coworkers, professors, etc, are asked to donate $10 per board break or a certain amount per kick (eg. $10 or $0.01/kick for 1000 kicks). We also offer apparel to allow donors to show their support for the club.
The funds raised at for the Kickathon help to support club members to train on campus and to compete at tournaments around the East Coast and at Nationals, as well as keeping the club strong for future club members!
