Dear Friends of OCW,
The OCW Gift Challenge is progressing at a terrific rate. So far, we’re 32% of the way to reaching our goal of of 2,001 contributors during this campaign. We thank the 644 people who have participated so far!
What reaching the OCW Gift Challenge means
Wining this challenge – with help – will help us accomplish so many things like:
- Creating descriptive text for graphs and images that are readable by screen readers for visually impaired learners;
- Publishing more project-based courses that showcase MIT’s mens et manusapproach: teaching students how to solve real-world problems by creating solutions that work; and
- Improving OCW’s ability to integrate and collaborate with other Open Educational Resource platforms like Crosslinks and MIT Learning Objects Repository for Education.
- Improving the search experience so that all users can find what they are looking for, and navigate their search through content tagging, structured vocabularies, and system infrastructure improvements.
These are just some examples of how we will put the challenge money to use.
We hope you'll encourage your friends and colleagues to contribute to OCW while there's still time in this campaign. Again, thank you for your support!
Sincerely, Cecilia d'Oliveira
Associate Dean of Digital Learning | MIT OpenCourseWare
P.S. Some of our donors have shared their reasons for supporting OCW.
