We're absolutely thrilled and grateful to have your support for our Career Connect crowdfunding campaign! We received a total gift of $1,158 from 60 donors and won an extra $2,500 matching gift from the MIT Annual Fund!
We're very excited about planning the Career Connect series for the 2015-2016 academic year. Your gift is so appreciated as it will help us create richer and more accessible career programs. Thank you for supporting the spouses and partners to thrive in the MIT community!

**Update (6/23): We reached the goal of 50 donors for the June Challenge, and have won the full $2,500 extra funding!
We are so grateful for the donations from our members, family, friends, and MIT alumni. We couldn't do this without you!
We're still accepting donations for the remaining days until June 30. Every additional dollar will support MIT spouses and partners who are building a new life and career in Boston.
Thank you again for your kind support!

MIT spouses&partners is a social and professional network for the significant others of MIT students, postdocs, staff, and faculty who relocated to the Boston area from other parts of the US or around the world. We organize events and programs for our members to connect with each other and to adjust to the new environment.
One of our cornerstone programs is Career Connect, a series of workshops on subjects such as US workplace culture, resumes and cover letters, interviews, and networking.
Many of our members made the big decision to interrupt their career and life in order to accompany their loved ones to pursue academic excellence at MIT. As they navigate in a new city, we provide expertise, guidance and support to help them reach their personal and professional goals. You can help these integral members, the spouses and partners of MIT people, thrive and belong in the MIT community!
Career Connect continues to be a great success in its fourth year. We invited human resources experts and career counselors to offer 15 workshops for over 420 participants during academic year 2014-2015. Our members learn hand-on skills and build confidence to explore professional development opportunities. Many of them find employment or take up active roles as volunteers on MIT campus or in local communities. They also establish professional and social connections with one another and enrich their lives through our workshops.
What Your Support Will Do
We plan seven to eight workshops each semester, covering essential career development topics. This year, we hope to expand the series to include new topics, such as personal branding and LinkedIn. Your support will help us secure classrooms, invite new speakers, and offer free childcare service at all Career Connect workshops.
We also hope to launch a new web-based service to reach out to spouses and partners who are unable to attend our workshops due to various barriers. Your support will help us videotape core Career Connect workshops and secure hosting space on TechTV website.
MIT is a 501(c)(3) institution, and your gift is tax-deductible within the limitations of U.S. federal income tax laws. Many companies also offer employees a matching gift benefit that doubles the contribution to MIT. Click here to find out if your employer has a matching gift program.
