About This Campaign
In recent years, the Latino Cultural Center (LCC) and the LatinX Graduate Student Association (LGSA) have worked together to host an open and welcoming graduation celebration for the entire MIT community. This ceremony honors the achievements, culture, and resilience of our graduating students while creating a meaningful space for families, friends, and community members to celebrate together.
In past years, the LCC and LGSA have proudly provided graduation stoles to participating students. These stoles represent not only academic accomplishment but also cultural identity, community, and the collective journey that brought our graduates to this moment. For many students, wearing this stole at commencement is a deeply meaningful symbol of pride and belonging.
Unfortunately, due to current budget constraints, the LCC and LGSA are unable to cover the cost of the stoles this year. We are reaching out to our community for support. Donations will go directly toward purchasing graduation stoles for our graduating students, helping ensure that this cherished tradition can continue. Your contribution, of any amount, will help us celebrate our graduates and recognize the strength and diversity of the Latino community at MIT.
$32 will cover the cost of one stole. Thank you for helping us honor this milestone for our students and for supporting a tradition that means so much to our community.
